He is currently the dominant male of our North American gray wolf ambassador pack. Wintu is the largest wolf we have at the facility, weighing in at 110 pounds. His strawberry blonde coat and short tail also help us to tell him apart from the other wolves in his pack.

Wintu became a dad to Poppy and Tulici in 2018 and has proven to be a great father. He is very protective of his pack and won’t hesitate to howl at perceived threats. Although he is a very dominant wolf, he always lets his daughters eat first when it’s feeding time.
