Photography Tours

Calling all photographers! The California Wolf Center needs your help! Each year, we teach thousands of people about wolves and their important role in the ecosystem. To aid in these efforts, we need high quality photos of our wolves. Please consider signing up for one of our unique photography tours for a chance to photograph the wolves from the other side of the fence. Reduced rates are available for photographers who are willing to donate the use of their photos to the California Wolf Center. For more details, view the flier here or call 619-234-WOLF (9653).

Wildlife Handling and Chemical Immobilization Course

Each year in January, the California Wolf Center hosts a course taught by Dr. Mark Johnson (of the original Yellowstone wolf reintroduction, among other things). Dr. Johnson has decades of international experience handling a variety of species. The next course will be held on January 10, 11, and 13, 2013. Visit our Wildlife Handling Course page for more details on the course and for information on how to register. The 2013 course is SOLD OUT, but please stay tuned for details on the 2014 course.

Wolf Awareness Week 2012

Wolf Awareness Week 2012 was a great success and raised over $30,000 to support wolf recovery. Cristina Eisenberg, wolf expert, author, and conservation advocate, spoke at both afternoon and evening programs about the unique role that wolves and other large carnivores play in healthy ecosystems. This fundraising event benefitted the California Wolf Center's resident wolves as well as our efforts to help wolves recover in the wild, including in our home state of California. Learn more here, or you can also call the California Wolf Center at (619) 234-9653 for more information. Stay tuned for details about Wolf Awareness Week 2013!
