From 8 East:
Exit Highway 79 (Japatul Road exit), follow signs to stay on Hwy 79 north
to Julian. Approximately 1.5 miles past the Sunrise Highway (S-1)
junction (or 4 miles south of Julian off Highway 79), turn right into
K.Q. Ranch
Campground. Drive
towards the campground and look for the California Wolf Center sign
on your right. When you see our sign please turn right and a volunteer
will escort you to the center.
From
Points North: Highway 78 to
79 south through Julian. Four miles south of Julian see K.Q. Ranch
Campground sign, turn left. Follow the above directions from there.

Visitors
Should Note:
Reservations
are required!
If you show up without a reservation
you cannot be admitted
due to limited seating.
- Pets
are not allowed at the Center, and cannot be left in vehicles
during your visit.
- Bring
a camera and binoculars to enhance your visit.
- In
the Winter you should bring cold weather clothes. It gets
mighty cold at times.
- Please
drive slowly (10 m.p.h.).
- No motorcycles allowed.
- Please
do not arrive in vehicles larger than a 15 Passenger van.
- When
you arrive, turn right onto the Kenis/Christianson Private
Road (before the archway to KQ campground).
- Please wait just inside the gate the for a wolf center
escort. You will drive your own vehicle to the Center, but
do not proceed without an official wolf center escort. The
last escort leaves the gate area 10 minutes before program
time (1:50 for a 2:00 program); therefore, as
a courtesy to others, any late arrivals will not be admitted.
Programs start promptly at 2:00.
- Please
note that the land on both sides road to the Center is private
property whose owners are not associated with the Center.
Please respect their property rights.
- In
wet weather, the road to the Center may be difficult or
impossible to negotiate without 4-wheel drive. It is sometimes
necessary to cancel a program if the road is impassable.
Every effort will be made to contact you before the time
of the program if this happens.
